Established in 2004, the UNOPS Amman Multi-Country Office (MCO) provides strategic and operational support to partners across Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and the Gulf countries. The MCO delivers solutions that address development, peace, and humanitarian challenges through infrastructure, procurement, project management, and human resources services. Working in close collaboration with national governments, UN agencies, and donors, the office supports efforts to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. Its portfolio includes large-scale operations focused on improving essential services, strengthening national systems, and enhancing resilience in complex and fragile settings.

The role operates under the guidance of the Information Management Officer, focusing on producing timely knowledge products, reports, and technical support to strengthen youth and adolescent development initiatives.

The Adolescents and Youth Knowledge Management Associate supports the section and the Adolescent and Youth Development Officer by developing high‑quality knowledge management products, reports, and analyses, while providing technical support to youth development.

Under the supervision of the Information Management Officer, the Adolescents and Youth Knowledge Management Associate will play an essential role in co-creating time-sensitive briefing notes, concept notes and proposals, financial analysis, reports and other products in support of the section. The objective of this post is to support the section and the Adolescent and Youth Development Officer with the development of high-quality knowledge management products, internal and external reports and provide technical support to youth development. Key functions are detailed below:
Programme Development and Management
Supports the development of internal concept notes and presentations ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s ADAP agenda.
Assists with the preparation of technical presentations, talking points, and briefing materials for meetings and review processes.
Aids in conducting research and analytical studies to inform programme design, strengthen project proposals, and enhance the evidence base for youth and adolescent development programming.
Use of Data for Programmatic Decisions and Advocacy
Supports the Information Management Officer (IMO) in developing, maintaining, and updating data collection tools and dashboards to consolidate programme targets, monitor progress, and enhance data-driven decision-making.
Assists the analysis of programme data to generate evidence for reporting, advocacy, and strategic adjustments in youth programming. Contributes to strengthening a culture of results and learning, ensuring that data informs both operational and strategic planning.
Innovation, Knowledge Management and Capacity Building
Supports ADAP visibility by preparing concise briefs, two-pagers, case studies, and human-interest stories showcasing programme results and impact.
Contributes to knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, identifying best practices, and facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions among partners, youth networks, and UNICEF teams.
Promotes innovative and youth-driven approaches to programme implementation, encouraging the use of digital tools and participatory methods to enhance engagement and effectiveness.
Provides support for capacity building and learning initiatives that strengthen partner and staff understanding of youth development principles, data use, and evidence generation.

Completion of secondary education is required.
Desired:
Training courses in adolescents and youth development, fundraising, people management, and management of community spaces are assets.
Experience Requirements

A minimum of six years of relevant work experience is required. For this position, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field to the role may replace two years of related experience required.
Desired:
Experience working with adolescents and youth development projects is an asset.

- For staff positions only, UNOPS reserves the right to appoint a candidate at a lower level than the advertised level of the post.
- For retainer contracts, you must complete a few mandatory courses (they take around 4 hours to complete) in your own time, before providing services to UNOPS. Refreshers or new mandatory courses may be required during your contract. Please note that you will not receive any compensation for taking courses and refreshers.
