About the Project Office

Since 2004, UNOPS has partnered with the Government of Haiti, UN agencies, and international organizations to deliver high-quality project management, procurement, logistics, and technical services. With a strong focus on infrastructure and service delivery, UNOPS provides engineering expertise and governance support to implement projects that improve the lives of Haitians. The Haiti Country Office has played a key role in advancing critical infrastructure, including hospitals, roads, renewable energy systems, and housing. It has also supported the health sector by procuring essential medical equipment, ambulances, and other supplies. In recent years, UNOPS has delivered large volumes of IT equipment, vehicles, and goods to support institutional capacity. These efforts are aimed at strengthening public services and contributing to Haiti’s sustainable development.

Role Purpose

Le Senior Associate en santé et sécurité, gestion sociale et environnementale – gestion environnementale sera responsable des tâches suivantes :

1- Appui Technique et Suivi

  • Planifier et organiser les consultations publiques 
  • Contribuer à l’élaboration et le suivi de  la mise en œuvre des des Plans de Gestion Environnementale et Sociale (PGES).
  • Participer aux visites de terrain pour évaluer les impacts environnementaux des activités du projet.
  • Assurer la supervision environnementale et sociale des travaux de construction des SAEPs
  • Assurer le suivi des indicateurs environnementaux dans les zones d'intervention.
  • Fournir un appui technique pour assurer la conformité des projets aux politiques environnementales de l'UNOPS et aux réglementations nationales.
  • Assister dans la préparation de rapports environnementaux.

2- Renforcement des Capacités

  • Participer à des formations et ateliers sur les thématiques environnementales.
  • Sensibiliser les parties prenantes locales sur les bonnes pratiques environnementales.
  • Assister à la planification et l’organisation des formations.

3- Appui à la Coordination et à la Documentation

  • Contribuer à la documentation des bonnes pratiques en gestion environnementale.
  • Participer aux réunions techniques avec les partenaires et autres parties prenantes.

Conformité et Réglementation

  • Veiller à la conformité des activités avec les standards du bailleur et les lois environnementales haïtiennes.

  • Préparer des rapports environnementaux réguliers. Faire la revue ou participer à l'élaboration de PGES

  • Identifier les risques environnementaux potentiels et proposer des actions correctives.

Education Requirements

Required

  • Diplôme secondaire (ou équivalent) avec 7 ans d'expérience pertinente OU une licence et/ou un master en sciences de l’environnement, gestion des ressources naturelles, écologie ou dans un domaine connexe peut remplacer les années d'expérience manquantes.



Experience Requirements

Required

  • Minimum sept (7) années d’expérience pertinente dans le domaine de la gestion environnementale, de préférence dans des projets de développement.


Desired

  • Expérience préalable avec des projets financés par des bailleurs de fonds internationaux (un atout).
